County records, every morning

For a Florida court-data lead company. Each morning, this job does what used to take a person, one record at a time.

Updated

The problem

To mail the right people, they need a home address for each person on the arrest list.

That address is not on the report. It is inside a court PDF, and the court site has no easy way for software to plug in.

So one record meant a lookup, a PDF, and copy and paste. Then the next one.

What it does, every morning

  1. Gets the report

It downloads the county arrest report.

  2. Finds the case

It looks up each person's case on the court site.

  3. Reads the PDF

It reads the first page of the court PDF, even when it is a scan, and pulls out the home address.

  4. Sets aside what it can't find

If no address turns up, the record is set aside. It does not guess.

  5. Sends the good ones

A person checks every record on a simple review screen. Approved records go to the shipping tool.

The hard parts

  1. Court sites are not built for software. I wrote code to use them the way a person would. Many tools stop right here.
  2. If one record fails, the rest keep going. One bad PDF never stops the morning's run.
  3. A wrong address costs money, so a person stays in the loop. Nothing goes out without a check.

Where it stands

It runs for three counties now and handles about 250 to 300 records a day. A fourth county is on the way.

What I can't show you

  • The time saved is an estimate, not a measurement: at least a minute per record by hand, so 4 to 5 hours a day across three counties.
  • I keep the company's name private until they say yes.
  • The real screens belong to the client, so the screen on this page is a sample I drew.

What this means for you

If you sell lead lists from public records, your job is likely close to this one. If you run background checks or title searches, the hardest step is the same: finding a record on a county site and reading the PDF. That build belongs to that client, so yours starts fresh. But I already know where these jobs get hard.

Name one job your team still does by hand

You get a reply within 2 business days: can it be automated, how, and about what it would cost. It is free, and you owe nothing.

The Check is a written answer. No build, no full audit.
